October 7th marks the eighth anniversary of the US invasion of Afghanistan. While the whole nation reels from the terrible cost of the war in lives, livelihoods, and dollars, President Obama is under immense political pressure to send as many as 45,000 more troops to Afghanistan. This is a critical time for us to raise our voices.
On Monday, October 5th, we are unveiling a unique and powerful action to honor the victims of the war, show the power of our opposition and build support for a new way.
President Obama is getting pressure from all sides to rush to a rash decision in Afghanistan. Next week, when the public, the media, and politicians remember the anniversary, we need to be there to show them the power of people who know bullets don’t win hearts and minds.
We’re going to need your help. Be sure to look for my email for our special action Monday morning.
