The official reasons for our military adventure in Afghanistan are all BOGUS. Our "wars" in Afghanistan and Iraq are all about ONE PURPOSE: Profits for the military-industrial complex that Dwight Eisenhower, a TRUE conservative, so eloquently warned us about at the end of his term more than 50 years ago --- big bucks for Halliburton, Blackwater and all the corporations with government contracts to produce guns, bombs, bullets, tanks, military aircraft, etc, etc.

If we are to salvage anything of what's left of our international reputation as a civilized nation, we must bring all our troops home THIS AFTERNOON from Iraq, Afghanistan, and 700 permanent military bases in 130 other countries. They can all finally be put to useful and productive work, building shelter for and supplying meals to the huge crews who will finally get to work rebuilding our crumbled infrastructure with the Pentagon budget we are no longer throwing down the sewer that Washington calls "defense" and "counterinsurgency."

Obama is being weak here. He said he'd fight the "good war" in Afghanistan during the campaign so he wouldn't look so weak on foreign policy. But he never meant it. He is now torn between what he thinks is right and his "campaign prop" fakery about fighting al Qaeda. This makes him a liar, regardless of the merits of this debate.
